On Sunday morning our service starts at 11.00 a.m. and children join the Chapel family for the first part of the service. At around 11.30 a.m. primary school age children leave the service for their own meeting named by them as ‘Kids 4 Christ’.
‘Kids 4 Christ’ generally follows the Scripture Union material, which covers a mix of Old and New Testament teachings. We try to keep this in chronological order as much as possible, so the children get a consistent and clear journey through the Bible over the course of the year. From September to December we do a ‘Jessie Tree’ looking at significant people in Jesus’s family tree, leading up to the birth of Christ.
Sessions involve a mix of songs, acting, teaching, stories, arts and crafts, games and fun!
Parents with smaller children are encouraged to bring them into the Schoolroom where the children meet. They are asked to remain with their children, as there is no formal crèche.
All those who lead our children’s and young people’s work have been DBS checked and have had the safeguarding training. All safeguarding policies and procedures are updated and in place.
